Made using traditional wood turning techniques in the Southern Indian villages. The soft grained and light "Ankudu' wood is picked from nearby hills. After the basic shape is created on a lathe, the toys are hand lacquered in bright vegetable colors by heating and applying the lac powder evenly onto the rotating toy.

Lac products are a specialty product made in Southern Indian villages using traditional skills and abundantly available local wood. The vegetable colors are sourced from the bark, leaves, fruit and flowers of the local flora and dry lac ( also from trees) is mixed on a lathe. The friction causes the lac to melt which gives the product it's gloss. The artisans skill is instrumental in the products having an even finish.
